Technology And Christianity

The Christian religion tells the facts that the God created the world and all the living and non-living things that are present in the world. God created every living creature on the face of the earth, and man was created at last to rule over everything that was created by Him. God gave all that the man wanted to live. When the man fell into sin, he was forced to leave the Garden of Eden and work on the soil for his survival.

The man started to work in the fields and he required sharp edged implements, knives and other equipment in order to till and plow the land. Man started to search for his need and as the need increased, it gave rise to technology. From then onwards, technology progressed to meet the increasing demands of man.

The ancient mankind was caught up with the fear of pantheism. Pantheism promotes the concept of superstitious belief on nature. This concept was later changed into fear in man. Man was held at the hands of slavery of nature, which made the man fear natural laws.

Christianity helps mankind to be free from all kinds of fear, including the fear of pantheism. It proposes that the world is nothing but the creation of God. God came down to earth as a human being, lived on earth and spread the good news of eternity and removed the fears from the hearts of mankind. God suffered on the cross for the salvation of people and promised whoever trusts His name will be free of bondages and get eternal life.

Christianity freed the man from unwanted superstitious belief about the nature which helped mankind advance in the progress of technological growth. After the rise of the enlightenment period, there was a great progress in the technology that man started to improve the things for the betterment of life and to minimize the miseries of life. In that effort, mankind became more civilized and stepped into the solar system and started to analyze things for the betterment of the society.

As technology grows more and more, man went away from the fear of God. This, in turn, separated man from God and the also from spiritual values that were previously held dear. This caused man to use the technology for destruction. God wants the mankind to make use of technology for the benefits of mankind and not for the destruction. That is what being a true Christian is all about.
